The New York Post is seeking a part-time Social Media Editor (Mon & Fri: 3pm-11pm) to join the Audience Development team.
Note: The schedule for this role is 3pm – 11pm on Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize original site content for social platforms and execute posting across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and more
- Work with NYPost.com and PageSix.com social media team to identify daily tasks
- Maintain proficiency and knowledge in latest social media technologies and best practices (i.e. new tools, algorithm changes, platform enhancements)
- Create short-form vertical videos for platforms including TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook and more
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- 1-3 years of experience managing social media accounts with a large audience; publisher experience preferred
- Basic video editing skills
- Strong news judgment and excellent writing and copy-editing skills
- Knowledge of digital media trends and emerging platforms
- Ability to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
Salary Range: $16/hour – $25/hr
